Guarding Our Bays

Kevin McCallister - Peconic Baykeeper
Kevin McCallister is the Peconic Baykeeper

Peconic Baykeeper, now celebrating its 10th year anniversary is a not-for-profit environmental education and advocacy organization licensed by Waterkeeper Alliance. The Waterkeeper movement lead by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is based on the philosophy that the protection of a community’s natural resources requires daily vigilance by its citizens. A Waterkeeper serves as a citizen patrol to safeguard local waters from destructive activities that can lead to their decline. Since its inception in 1998, Peconic Baykeeper has been one of the most powerful voices for the protection of eastern Long Island’s estuarine waters. As the Baykeeper, Kevin McCallister considers himself a true public servant who is deeply committed on both a personal and professional level to ensuring clean and productive waters. Visit the Peconic Baykeeper at www.peconicbaykeeper.org.
