David Doty, treasurer of East Hampton Conservators presented a $500 check to Congressman Tim Bishop’s reelection campaign. East Hampton Conservators is a political action committee whose mission is to support candidates with a demonstrated commitment to environmental protection.

Mr. Bishop has been a strong supporter of our local environment and has a proven record on environmental protection. Among other accomplishments, Bishop was instrumental in leading the fight that opposed the floating Broadwater gas terminal in Long Island Sound. He was also successful in his opposition to the plan to dump 20 million cubic yards of contaminated dredge waste into Long Island Sound.  Mr. Bishop believes that the next generation of jobs will be in green energy that will reduce our dependence on foreign oil. The League of Conservation Voters has given Mr. Bishop a 100% rating on environmental issues.

Bishop was born in Southampton where he resides today with his wife.  They have two daughters.  Bishop understands and supports local issues that effect our environment and its link to a healthy local economy.
